Jab Tak Hai Jaan Will Make People Fall In Love -Yash Chopra

JTHJ(Jab Tak Hai Jaan) starring Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma is a movie for the people who believe in falling in love, and still enjoy it.

The movie revolves around the Heart Breaking LOVE STORY of Major Samar Anand(SRK) which is read by an ammateur documentary filmmaker Akira(Anushka Sharma)from his diary, and decides to make a documentary about the man who cannot die(He has a record of diffusing 108 bombs w/o a single scratch) and falls in love while doing so. A lot of twists and turns in between.
Meera(Katrina Kaif) who plays the love of M.Samar Anand's life and for who he is heart broken, is an unsual character compared to the rest of the Yash Chopra heroines.

The film takes a fresher look towards love, as instead of just hugs into the open arms, there are few kisses and love making scenes but only at points, rest of the love remains the same.

The music if you thought does'nt sound that great ,will make you feel exactly opposite when u see it in the movie, specially the songs Challa and Saans.

Even though JTHG comes with an OKAY story, you might stick to your seats till the end. The movie is a package of Yash Chopra style romance, co-incident twists(as its a love story and anything can happen in love), excellent locations, good performance by Katrina and great performances from SRK and Anushka and mesmerising music by A.R.Rehman, and a happy ending.

Overall it is a one time watch, i'd go 3.5/5 stars for JTHG

Student Of The Year

Its time to live back your college days but in Karan Johar style.

Student of the year starring Varun Dhavan, Siddhart Malhotra, Alia bhatt, Rishi Kapoor revolves around the life of best friends and how it changes when all competing with each other for the Student of the year cup.

The first half of the movie seems to be the typical Karan Johar type which involves introductions of the characters, the college, and of course the songs.Nothing much to watch in it.The entertainment starts in the second half when the competiton for the coveted Student Of The Year Cup begins. Don't Expect a Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikandar but the script keeps you curious enough to sit in theatres till the end.

Performance wise its good to see that new actors are able to act. The debutants have done a good job.Varun Dhavan proving to be the better actor of the three, but the icing on the cake is Rishi Kapoor playing the Gay Dean of the college.

Other aspects like the camera work, music, locations make the movie more enjoyable. Student Of The Year is'nt an exceptional movie, but still you can enjoy it on an sunday evening with friends.
I would go 3 out 5 for Student Of The Year.

Cocktail - Music reviewed

Cocktail movie comes out from the 'Love aaj kal 'gang, producer Saif ali khan, Writer Imitiyaz Ali and the music composer  Pritam.
The album comprises of 7 original tracks and 3 more which include 1 remixe, 2 reprise versions.

Compared to Pritam's last album  under this banner(Agent Vinod), Cocktail surpises with very fresh music  and powerful compositions.

1. Tum hi ho Bandhu-
Catchy and very unusual lyrics this song has been making quite a news  in the youth even before the music launch. Neeraj Sridhar and Kavita Seth have done justice with the vocals and the music is also as great as the vocals are. One of the best songs in the album.
Rating :- 4/5.

2.Daru desi-
A very light on the beat, this song comes with a very pleasing and peppy music. The vocals are given by   Benny Dayal and Shalmali Kholgade (Pareshan -Isahqzade). The lyrics are very unusual and catchy.
Rating :- 3/5.

3.Yaariyan –
A slow and melodious composition, this track will definitely make you hum in its flow. Vocalists Mohan Kanan and Shilpa Rao have done a perfect job.
Rating :- 3/5.

4.Second hand Jawani-
Disastrous lyrics with a Punjabi beat to it. I leave the rest to ur imagination.  The song is one of the worst in the album. The vocals being okay, the lyrics do the job of destroying the song.
Rating:- 1.5/5.

5. Tera Naam Jhapdi Phiran:-
Imagine a Pakistani classical song  and then imagine any club mix like one of David Guetta’s albums, and now mix it in Pritam Style. After all this what u get is this track .Inspired by the song ‘Aj latha nayyion ’ by Javed Bashir (Coke studio) this track has more than just the inspiration including the vocalists. The composer has played it smart by introducing House music in .
Rating:- 2/5

6.Luttna –
This track will surprise with its pace and vocals. Sung in Punjabi, this track offers great beats and some excellent mixing from the composer .Masuma Anwar, Sahir Ali & Anupam Amod back the song with very powerful vocals enhancing the music.

7.Jugni –
Another Punjabi track!!! This track has all that is required to be a gr8 composition. Awesome vocals, gr8 music, amazing lyrics and plus the Punjabi factorJ. Vocalist Arif Lohar and Harsdeep kaur have done an awesome piece of work and so has the composer Pritam.
